This great band out of WV now mutually decide to end the group. I loved Recess Serenade and was so excited to discover them on Mountain Stage. Bums me out, but there’s lots of new releases to look forward to from other artists.

[Wow, been 6 months since I've written...too much going on...]
Had the chance to take a long car ride recently. I brought lots of music and heard the Tim Buckley Morning Glory Anthology and the Dream Letter live show. I don’t have all his albums, only these two, and the Anthology gave me a chance to hear the 70′s eclectic sound which was a commercial failure for his career. Some of these tracks sound quite dated to me but overall I’m grateful to have this in my collection.
Dream Letter, though, must rank in my Top 10 recordings of all time. Recorded in 1968 this recording suffers from none of the aspects which makes the Anthology sound dated. I’ve owned this CD for 13 years and each time I play it I am taken to new heights of sonic pleasure. I get chills even writing about it; the guitar, vibes, and bass is an incredible combination to showcase his songs. It’s the kind of album where I hit the replay button after many tracks. The last track leaves me sad that the album is finished but enriched for spending the prior two hours listening to this amazing recording.
I’ll write about Jeff Buckley another day.
